A new website

We've launched a new membership platform for HBSC — one that gives members a private portal, a live directory, and easier access to club documents. As part of this upgrade, our website is moving to a new home. This page explains what's changing, what stays the same, and how to find everything you need.

  • The old website served us well, but it had no member-only area and required the webmaster to manually update content. The new platform is purpose-built for sailing clubs: members can log in on their own to browse the directory, access club documents, and keep their own details up to date — no passwords to manage, no intermediary needed.

    This transition lets us offer more to members while reducing the administrative burden on the Board.

    1. The new site is live at hempsteadbaysailingclub.org and .net. Both of our main domain names now point to the new membership platform. Whether you type .org or .net, you'll arrive at the same new site.

    2. The old site is still accessible at hempsteadbaysailingclub.info. Nothing has been deleted. The previous website has been moved to our.info domain, where it will remain available until June 1st. If you're looking for something that was on the old site — a document, a page, an old notice — it's still there.

    3. The old site will be retired on June 1st. After June 1st, hempsteadbaysailingclub.info will no longer be active. Before then, if there's anything from the old site you'd like preserved or moved to the new one, please let the Board know.

  • The old website remains available at hempsteadbaysailingclub.info until June 1st, 2026. If you can't find what you're looking for there, or you'd like a document migrated to the new site, reach out to the Board and we'll be happy to help.

  • The new site includes a private members-only section. To access it, click Membership in the top navigation and choose Members Only. You'll log in with a magic link sent to your email — no password required. Once inside, you can:

    • Member Directory — Browse current club members and their contact details

    • Club Documents — Access bylaws, race notices, forms, and other club files

    • Your Profile — Review and update your own membership information

  • This transition is being managed by the Board. If anything looks wrong, a link is broken, or you have feedback on the new site, please reach out on Slack. We want the switch to be smooth for everyone.
